From April 3rd to 5th, we at Optimum Greece had the pleasure of welcoming MICE professionals to Athens for the fourth edition of the Carré Destinations Show. In partnership with This is Athens, and our esteemed hospitality collaborators—including the Hotel Grande Bretagne and the One&Only Aesthesis—we curated a three-day experience designed to inspire, connect, and reveal the many facets of Athens as a premier MICE destination.
This year’s edition gathered over 30 participants from leading event agencies in France and 18 Destination Management Companies from around the world. The result was a dynamic and enriching exchange between key international players in the events industry—each bringing their unique perspective to a shared exploration of what Greece has to offer.
Athens served as the ideal setting to showcase the limitless potential of Greece as a corporate event destination. Participants experienced the city from multiple angles: a refined lunch at Pyrgos Petreza, a rooftop breakfast with sweeping views at the Hotel Grande Bretagne, and a team-building rally through the historic center. Cultural and culinary highlights included a welcome dinner at the Nyn Esti restaurant within the Museum of Contemporary Art, a Mediterranean lunch at Lyra in the vibrant Plaka district, and a farewell gathering at the picturesque Château Melissourgos. Each moment reflected the unique character and diversity that make Athens a remarkable stage for events of distinction.
A curated program, including a DMC speed meeting at the Aelia Bar of the One & Only Aesthesis and a glamorous dinner at the stylish Manko restaurant, fostered valuable connections between top event agencies and DMCs. Each encounter was thoughtfully designed to highlight Athens not only as a destination, but as an experience—authentic, warm, and tailor-made for business events with impact.
Guests were welcomed in two of Athens’ most distinguished hotels—the iconic Grande Bretagne and the refined One&Only Aesthesis—providing a taste of the city’s world-class hospitality. Above all, the true success of this event was measured by the smiles, conversations, and shared enthusiasm of every participant. The Carré Show 2025 was more than a showcase—it was a celebration of what makes Greece a destination of choice for corporate gatherings of all scales.
